The Family is Breaking Up
Today we had to say goodbye to Natalie the first member of our close-knit ISEP family to leave Spain and return home which, in her case, is Brazil. We had a nice going away party for her last night and then all showed up today at lunch to see her off. As is usually the case with goodbyes tears were shed. And as is usually the case with me I was not feeling sad at all until others started crying and what not. That’s what gets me…I am completely fine and composed until an ambience of sadness is somehow projected by others; then I find myself caught up in it. I But enough about that.
It will be a little weird not having Natalie around, and it has made me think about what it will be like when the others leave in a week or so. We have all grown so accustomed to eating together, talking, etc. that it will be a bit like starting over again; I’ll have to find myself a new place, so to speak, in various daily situations. This doesn’t bother me really, it is just something I was thinking about. Supposedly 7 more Americans will be arriving here shortly, so I’m sure I’ll have plenty of company and the chance to play big brother for a while.
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I’ve been sort of caught up in a mix of real life and work on an uber top secret project (ok so it’s not really secret at all) that I will hopefully be announcing shortly. Oh yeah, and I got to drive yesterday when I accompanied my friend Jorge to do some work in nearby Antequera. It was great, made me realize how much I miss having a car and so forth.
And this is where some sort of wrap up or conclusion should go so that this post doesn’t end so abruptly and randomly…unfortunately I can’t think of anything.
