Signs You May Not Have Done So Well on Your Exam (Even if you thought you did)
I took my first exam here in Malaga, Spain this morning. When I first looked at the questions I thought it looked easy, no problem…but afterwards I wasn’t so sure. Here’s why:
- I finished way before everyone else.
- I didn’t ask for more paper (like many others did), although I do write small.
- I had no clue why a summary of the most recent theme we studied was on the questions sheet, despite the fact it had nothing to do with the questions. I asked the professor, and he acted like I was stupid for asking, just saying that it was a summary of the most recent theme, and it wasn’t important that it didn’t have to do with the questions.
- I didn’t use cool white-out and various colored pens to write my exam (many others did), when I made a mistake I just put a line through it.
- After the exam I withdrew some money from an ATM, while putting my card back in my wallet it broke…as in literally snapped in half. In the words of Harry or Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber, “he was kinda old…”
So really I have no clue how I did. It’s not a huge deal as there is no grade for this exam, it just eliminates material from the final. Worst comes to worst I’ll have to study the whole year’s worth of stuff for the final, not too big of a deal, or at least it doesn’t seem like it now. I just hope I don’t fail because I didn’t write with colored pens…that would really suck.
There was one upside to finishing early, I got back to the residence in time to see Maria Clara off (returning to Brazil). She was by far my best friend (girl wise) of those who were here first semester. I was sorry to see her go, but luckily she has a photolog and we have created a Google Group so we can all keep in touch.
That’s all for now, hopefully more later. Uber-top-secret project should be finished soon. Oh yeah, and I got an invite to the Otavo private beta…don’t know if I am supposed to write about it yet or not, but it’s definitely a great idea.
